Delays in Royal Mail?

Question from one of our subscribers:

Hi guys,

I have been using an OBA account for 1 year and never had any major problems with the delivery service.

For the last 2 weeks I have been having numerous cases of buyers complain about delays in the post. I am talking about 15 cases over 2 weeks of buyers opening cases after 5 days of purchase (they bought it with 2nd class delivery but I send via 1st class!).

This frustrating due to the new defect rates on ebay.
My normal spiel of please wait longer, bla bla, is not working and buyers are putting a lot of pressing on having their money back immediately.

This has hardly ever been the case before and I am starting to worry that I will have big losses if I start refunding every customer who claim they haven’t received their items.

Anyone experiencing anything similar or have any thoughts of how to deal with this? Do you refund people immediately and take a loos?

Thank you for any input.

Answer:

Hi!

I think it really depends on the value of your items. If your items are considered to belong in cheap lines, then refunding 15 customers isn’t going to break the bank. If you are sending out standard post and the items are a little more expensive then really you should opt to use recorded delivery.

Hope this helps!
